LAPA for Lawyers

Law firms that are members of LAPA, and the lawyers who provide legal aid services for them, are committed to the highest standards of service, ethics and professionalism.

These lawyers are experts in their areas of law, skilled litigators and believe strongly in the right of all people to have access to justice.

Lawyers involved in LAPA are forward-looking and keen to adopt new ways of doing things without compromising on the traditions and conventions that have moulded the legal profession over hundreds of years.

Most importantly, those lawyers who are in a position of leadership in their firm or the wider community use LAPA as a vehicle to promote principles of efficiency and good value to their peers.

We offer a number of new ways for lawyers to collaborate, learn and share. The website has four tools just for lawyers who work for LAPA firms:

IDEAS: a virtual space where new ideas (and oldies too) can be shared. Content will also be added by the secretariat on a regular basis.

EVENTS: lawyers will have access to workshops and events specifically relating to legal aid.

COLLABORATION: a number of ways to meet up socially or for work purposes.

AGENCY NETWORK: lawyers will have access to a nationwide network of agents - guaranteed legal aid providers who will give fellow members priority and have an assurance of quality.
